Family and Partner Dispute Resolution
The disputes that do the most damage are rarely about the money itself. They are about the relationship the money has come to represent.
Disputes between family members or business partners carry a weight that purely commercial disagreements don't. By the time outside advisors get involved, positions have hardened, trust has eroded, and the original disagreement has become entangled with years of accumulated friction that has very little to do with the legal question at hand.
We provide an honest, independent assessment of each party's position before things get more entrenched. We sit both sides down and have structured conversations that keep the commercial questions separate from the personal ones. We work out settlement options that actually address what each side needs, not just what they're demanding in the heat of the moment.
On the partnership side, we help each party understand what they're genuinely entitled to versus what they believe they are. Equity splits that made sense at formation, decision-making authority that was informally understood- these things need to be clearly resolved, not debated indefinitely.
Once a resolution is reached, we manage the practical side too: separation or buyout, valuation, payment terms, and any ongoing obligations. We work to preserve the relationship where it can be preserved, and manage a clean separation where it genuinely can't.
Handled early and properly, most disputes resolve before they reach litigation, at a fraction of the cost and with far less lasting damage.
